Strategist, Director of Photography, Production Lead — I managed a commercial video production team on-site in O‘ahu for a week, overseeing visual direction, site selection, and serving as director of photography. I also helped shape the campaign’s overall narrative strategy and ensured the creative execution aligned with the event’s themes of sustainability and community.

Create a series of short films for Hawai‘i 2030, an Emerson Collective event celebrating the state’s progress toward 40% renewable energy by 2030, highlighting local children’s visions of a clean, energy-independent future.

Goal

Support the Hawai‘i 2030 event’s mission to celebrate and reaffirm the state’s renewable energy commitments by connecting policy goals to personal stories that reflected community pride, hope, and energy sovereignty.

Approach

Translate Hawai‘i’s energy transition into a people-first story by centering children as the voice of the future. Combine grounded interviews, sweeping natural visuals, and cinematic portraiture to merge policy with personal impact.

Process

I collaborated with Emerson Collective’s strategy and production teams to define the creative vision, led on-site coordination, and directed all photography during multi-day shoots around O‘ahu. Working with local families, schools, and crew, I captured authentic, emotional stories that celebrated Hawai‘i’s leadership in renewable energy. The finished films were featured at the Hawai‘i 2030 conference alongside Governor David Ige and later distributed across social and digital channels to extend the campaign’s reach.
